Introduction to post-treatment of stainless steel precision casting
After the completion of casting, stainless steel precision casting also needs to undergo a series of post-treatment, which mainly deals with the surface quality and overall shape of the product. Its processes are relatively complex, including shot blasting, sandblasting, acid biting, acid washing, rough grinding, precision grinding, shaping, welding repair, electric polishing, grinding and other processes. Today, I will introduce the specific post-processing of precision casting to you.
1、 For products with high surface quality requirements. Sandblasting treatment is required. Sandblasting is a process that uses compressed air as the power to rapidly spray sand onto the surface of castings through a spray gun, in order to remove residual sand and oxide skin from the outer and inner holes of castings. During the cleaning process, shot blasting, sandblasting, and rough grinding have no sequential order that can be coordinated according to the on-site situation.
2、 As for products with thicker walls and complex structures, they are less likely to deform. For some foreseeable deformations, measures such as cooling fixtures and reasonable placement are generally taken during the wax pressing process to prevent and reduce deformation and repair rates. Coarse grinding is the process of grinding the inner gate with a sandcloth belt to a height of less than 1mm from the surface of the casting. Then, precision grinding is carried out by selecting sandcloth belts of different thicknesses according to the different surface quality requirements of the product. Attention must be focused during precision grinding to prevent surface damage. Products that are transferred from the inspection workshop to the welding repair workshop are all products with surface defects.
3、 Generally speaking, surface defects of products can be divided into two categories: protruding and concave. Protruding defects include: burrs, burrs, steel beans, or obvious mold lines. The concave defects include: pores, shrinkage pits, cuts, abrasions, etc. Grinding and welding repair are repair methods that respectively target these two major surface defects. Grinding mainly involves using pneumatic air guns, winches, and other grinding tools to install different models and types of grinding heads. Smooth out and grind out any protruding defects on the surface of the product. When repairing protruding defects on the surface of a product, a sanding head is chosen, which is faster.
