A world-class automotive parts supplier
A world-class automotive parts supplier
With the development of China's automotive industry, technology and research and development are constantly advancing. Today, precision casting manufacturer Yufeng Metal will introduce to you the core component suppliers of automotive enterprises today.
1、 Engine design
AVL from Austria, FEV from Germany, and Ricardo from the UK are the three largest independent engine design companies in the world today. In addition, VM from Italy, which focuses on the diesel engine field, almost all domestic independent brand engines are designed by these four companies.
1.1. Austria AVL
At present, AVL's customers in China mainly include Chery, Weichai, Xichai, Dachai, Shangchai, Yunnei, etc.
1.2. German FEV
As early as the 1980s, it began selling engine technology to Yuchai in Guangxi. Currently, its main customers in China include FAW, SAIC, Huachen, Lufeng, Yuchai, Yunnei, etc.
1.3. Ricardo, UK
As early as the 1930s, diesel engines were provided to London buses and French Citroen. In recent years, the main achievements have been the design of DSG transmissions for Audi R8 and Bugatti Veyron, helping BMW optimize K1200 series motorcycle engines, and helping McLaren design its first engine, M838T. Currently, Ricardo's clients in China include FAW, SAIC, Great Wall, Lifan, and others.
1.4. Italian VM
The Italian VM company, located in the same city as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati, provided engines for the Range Rover, Rover 800, and Alfa Romeo in the last century. Starting from 2004, Jiangling, Huatai, Changfeng, Great Wall, and SAIC successively purchased VM's diesel engine manufacturing technology and key production equipment, and began producing their own diesel engines.
2、 Gasoline engine
Undoubtedly, Mitsubishi Japan supplies gasoline engines for almost all domestic brand cars that cannot produce their own engines. Mitsubishi, which had a low market share in the Chinese complete vehicle market, was able to establish Aerospace Mitsubishi in Shenyang, Liaoning in 1997 and Dong'an Mitsubishi in Harbin, Heilongjiang in 1998, under the guidance of the then Chinese automotive giant Mr. Yang Rong. They produced medium displacement and small displacement gasoline engines, respectively, to support companies such as Hafei, Southeast, and Huachen at that time.
With the rise of independent brands such as Chery, Geely, Huachen, and BYD around 1999, Mitsubishi's investment in these two engine companies in China saw a rapid improvement in performance and indeed made a lot of money, despite their inability to produce their own engines at the beginning of construction. With the improvement of independent brand research and development capabilities, many car companies such as SAIC, Dongfeng, Chery, etc. have established their own engine factories, and there are more and more manufacturers producing their own engines, opening up a way to break the monopoly.

3、 Diesel engine
In terms of light diesel engines, Isuzu is undoubtedly the king. This Japanese diesel engine and commercial vehicle giant established Qingling Motors and Jiangling Motors in Chongqing, Sichuan, China and Nanchang, Jiangxi as early as 1984 and 1985, respectively, and began producing Isuzu pickup trucks, light trucks, and matching 4JB1 engines.
With the discontinuation of light passenger vehicles such as Ford Transit and Foton Landscape, Isuzu engines have found a blue ocean in the light passenger market. Nowadays, almost all diesel engines used in pickup trucks, light trucks, and light passenger vehicles in China are purchased from Isuzu or produced using Isuzu technology.
In terms of heavy-duty diesel engines, American company Cummins dominates. This independent engine manufacturer in the United States has established four companies in China solely in the production of complete machines: Dongfeng Cummins, Xi'an Cummins, Chongqing Cummins, and Foton Cummins. Its supporting scope includes heavy-duty truck enterprises such as Dongfeng, Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Truck, Chongqing Tiema, and Foton Oman, as well as passenger car enterprises such as Yutong, Jinlong, Qingnian, and Zhongtong, as well as engineering machinery enterprises such as Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion Heavy Industry, and XCMG. It can be said that Cummins has a significant influence in the high-end heavy-duty diesel engine market in China.
4、 Electronic fuel injection system
In order to meet the increasingly strict emission requirements of the Chinese government, all domestically produced cars must be equipped with electronic fuel injection systems. Bosch in Germany, Delphi in the United States, and Denso in Japan (belonging to the Toyota Group) have almost all of the Chinese electronic fuel injection market share, with Bosch in Germany having a dominant market share of over 60%. From domestic brands to foreign brands, from sedans to trucks, and from gasoline cars to diesel cars, Chinese consumers contribute thousands of yuan in profits to these three foreign companies for every car they buy.
5、 Automotive interior and exterior components
Multinational component giants represented by Johnson Controls, Delphi (formerly General Motors Parts Division), Wistron (formerly Ford Automotive Parts Division), and France's Faurecia not only manufacture interior and exterior components such as seats, dashboards, armrests, door interiors, roof interiors, bumpers, headlights, wipers, and air conditioning for domestic car manufacturers, but also participate in the design of interior and exterior components from the beginning of the vehicle model design. The above-mentioned companies design and manufacture interior and exterior components for almost all domestic passenger car manufacturers.
6、 Tires
Foreign car tires include low-end ones such as Jinhu and Hantai from South Korea, mid-range ones such as Goodyear from the United States, Pirelli from Italy, Dunlop from the United Kingdom, Bridgestone from the United Kingdom, and Ukohama from the United Kingdom, and high-end ones such as Michelin from France. The market for domestically produced tires is mostly focused on micro vehicles and commercial vehicles. Like the Zhengxin Triangle.
