Precision machining of parts does not require precise machining of all materials, as it has very strict material requirements. For precision machining materials, they are divided into two categories: metallic materials and non-metallic materials.
For precision machining of metal materials, stainless steel has the highest hardness, followed by cast iron, copper, and finally aluminum. The processing of ceramics, plastics, and other materials belongs to the processing of non-metallic materials.
Firstly, there is a requirement for the hardness of the material. In some cases, the higher the hardness of the material, the better. However, due to the hardness requirements of the machining parts, the material cannot be too hard. If it is harder than the parts, it cannot be machined.
Secondly, the material should be moderately soft and hard, at least one level lower than the hardness of the parts. At the same time, it also depends on the purpose of the processed components and the reasonable selection of materials for the parts. So, the most basic rule is to pay attention to the density of the material before processing.
