What is wax mold precision casting?
Wax mold precision casting, also known as lost wax casting or investment casting.
The casting method is as follows: first, make a model of the casting to be made with wax, and weld the model to the sprue bar with the same material to make a module (when the casting is large, it can be a single group). Dip the surface of the module with fire-resistant coating (a mixture of water glass or silica sol and fine sand), then sprinkle fire-resistant sand (dipping and sanding should be repeated several times to make the sand layer thick enough), wait for it to dry and solidify, heat the module, remove the wax from the sprue, and form an empty shell. Roast the empty shell to make it a sturdy mold shell, pour the metal liquid through the gate, condense it, and it becomes a metal casting.
Wax mold precision casting originated in the Bronze Age in China and has a history of over two thousand years. It has been widely used in various industries, such as aerospace, petrochemicals, weapons and ships, machinery manufacturing, household appliances, and instrumentation.
Wax mold precision casting has many advantages: it can manufacture castings with complex shapes and can manufacture thin-walled parts with small holes; Suitable for various metals and alloys; High manufacturing accuracy.
According to the different wax materials and shell materials used, wax mold precision casting is divided into:
Low temperature wax - water glass (foam alkali) process;
Medium temperature wax - silica sol process;
Low temperature wax in composite process - commonly used molding equipment in water glass process.
Pasting and wax injection integrated machine, pneumatic wax injection machine, stirring wax injection integrated machine, hydraulic wax injection machine.
Moulding equipment used in the medium temperature wax silica sol process.
