Sealing of Wax Seams in Precision Casting
Sealing of Wax Seams in Precision Casting
How did you bridge the gap between the sprue and the vertical or horizontal sprue when assembling the tree? In fact, the most commonly used soldering iron for tree formation is electric soldering iron, followed by waxing. Of course, some units also use homemade soldering iron, and some units even use saw blades for tree formation. I think among these methods, waxing is the most efficient, hassle free, and sturdy way to bond. However, there are also certain issues: sometimes employees feel that the wax cannot stick, which is closely related to the number and flatness of wax mold gates. For foreign trade products, there are relatively few gates, and they are all brought out by molds, which are relatively regular. Using adhesive wax may be better, but of course, problems may also arise when there are many gates. For small batch, multi variety production or when the sprue needs to be assembled on the casting by oneself, there will be deviations, and using wax will cause problems, some will stick on and some will not stick on. Using a soldering iron is not the case, as the temperature is high and even if there is some unevenness between the gates, it can be quickly melted and adhered by the soldering iron. I don't know if you've noticed it, but sometimes the deformation of the casting starts from here because the original unevenness needs to be flattened, which undoubtedly puts stress on the wax mold module. The trouble with soldering iron is that the high temperature can easily carbonize the wax, and the soldering iron tip is prone to scaling, which can contaminate the wax. Therefore, sometimes its application is limited. The shaping knife made of saw blades is used to assemble trees, but it has the same problem as a soldering iron. These affect the quality of wax.
So, how do we do the finishing work left by the group tree to fill the gaps? Today, precision casting manufacturer Yufeng Metal will talk to you about this topic. Traditionally, there are four methods:
1、 Use red wax (repair wax) to repair.
2、 Drip hot wax.
3、 Use a dropper to heat the wax and fill the gaps.
4、 The effect of using a combination of shaping knives and dripping wax.
Today, precision casting manufacturer Tianyao Metal recommends a sealing method from a Taiwanese factory, which uses a flame welding machine at a relatively high temperature. After a slight walk, all the wax seams are fully sealed. It is said that the principle of this machine is to electrolyze hydrogen peroxide into hydrogen and oxygen, and then combine the two gases to form water, which is pollution-free when used. This may be a relatively good method of sealing at present.
