Process division in precision parts machining
6061 aluminum is a popular aluminum alloy due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to corrosion. It is widely used in structural and architectural applications, as well as in the manufacturing of highly customized products.
Process division in precision parts machining
In precision parts machining, the process can be relatively centralized, and most or all of the processes can be completed in one clamping as much as possible. Generally, there are several ways to divide the process:
Divide the process according to the clamping and positioning method of the parts. The positioning method during processing varies depending on the shape of the component structure. Generally, when processing the external shape, the positioning is based on the internal shape, and when processing the internal shape, the positioning is based on the external shape. Therefore, the process can be divided according to different positioning methods.
Precision parts machining also needs to be divided into processes according to the tools used. In order to reduce the number of tool changes, shorten the idle time, and minimize unnecessary positioning errors, the parts can be machined using the method of centralized tool processing. That is, in one clamping, try to use the same tool to machine all the parts that can be machined, and then switch to another tool to machine other parts.
